It's always so helpful when we are able to see teachers in action in their classrooms and I'm sure I speak for myself and my classmates when I say it was very helpful for us to be able to perform a running record with a child. It was stressful at first not knowing all the different abbreviations that we need to use, but my teacher was wonderful about explaining what we could do. Thank you so very much!

  19. Thank you for allowing us to come into Crawford and into your classrooms. It is great to be able to see how running records are administered in a classroom. The hands-on experience is invaluable. I loved getting to see the teacher administer the running record, then explain why and how she did what she did. Then, getting to see my peers conduct a running record and analyze it. It was great to be able to see multiple children read because each child struggles with a different part of reading, while excelling at other parts. It was wonderful to see the form used in the schools also. Thank you again for allowing us into your classrooms to observe and work with students!

  26. Thank you for welcoming us into your classrooms this week. I was placed with Mrs. Gray, and I learned so much about administering running records. Mrs. Gray made it look easy, but it was not as easy as it looks. We were given a sheet with the 100 words from the book, and had a student read to us. I could not keep up at all and felt very lost. Mrs. Gray said that until you get running records down, you should make a copy of the pages of the book you are doing so you can keep up better. I will keep that advise in mind as I move into my career. Once again, thank you Crawford third grade teachers.
